Meidani seizes Brokaj

Minister Haldaraga, an extraordinary meeting at the Presidency today Meidani seizes Brokaj The former minister discussed as head of Defence A surprise move after the compromise with Nano TIRANA - Sokol Nano rushed to the President. Bombshell news from the Presidency yesterday morning: the former Minister of Defence, Sabit Brokaj, is said to be returning to head the Defence Ministry. Sources close to the head of state say that Brokaj's name has been put forward as an alternative to resolve the crisis over the post of Minister of Defence. The reason has been the resignation of Safet Zhulali. This version became known immediately after the meeting that Prime Minister Nano held at the Presidency with Rexhep Meidani. The sources specify that the two heads of state have agreed that, instead of Safet Zhulali, the former minister Sabit Brokaj should be proposed as Minister of Defence. In this way the President seems to have won his battle with Prime Minister Nano. Meidani, who from the very beginning had been against the appointment of Haxhi Hyseni to head Defence, managed to persuade the Prime Minister to abandon his candidate. In return, the President is giving his approval for other changes in the cabinet. “The latest changes in the Government do not satisfy us” ON THE PARLIAMENT FLOOR

Nano reminds me of the old days

Tomorrow’s Tozi If, 30 years ago, you had asked 10 people “What is a person more valuable for, the mind or the flesh?”, the conclusion would have been tragic. And this is because “communist morality” mercilessly recognized “virtues” and “values” only in the “flesh”. There was no question of the mind. As if that were not enough, in the period of socialism the “heroes of labor” were among the most favored and not the intellectuals. Such seems to be the logic that today’s prime minister is offering us as well. Once he has plunged into the discourse of governance, with strange and “strong” moves, Mr. Nano is reminding us of that old spirit, where a person's value is measured by the strength of the muscles and not by the weight of the mind.
