Bombshell news from the Presidency yesterday morning: the former Minister of Defence, Sabit Brokaj, is said to be returning to head the Defence Ministry. Sources close to the head of state say that Brokaj's name has been put forward as an alternative to resolve the crisis over the post of Minister of Defence. The reason has been the resignation of Safet Zhulali. This version became known immediately after the meeting that Prime Minister Nano held at the Presidency with Rexhep Meidani. The sources specify that the two heads of state have agreed that, instead of Safet Zhulali, the former minister Sabit Brokaj should be proposed as Minister of Defence. In this way the President seems to have won his battle with Prime Minister Nano.
