Foreign Minister Edmond Panariti yesterday described as naive, illogical and completely abnormal the reactions of his Greek counterpart, Dimitris Avramopulos, after the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of Albania’s Independence. In an interview given to ABC News, Panariti appealed to his Greek counterpart not to fall prey to nationalist rhetoric, which takes precedence after him, "especially when a state is in a difficult situation, as is happening with Greece". "It seems naive to me because no one believes that Albania has had or has territorial claims. The unnecessary burden of these statements, with supposed claims, is completely outside normal logic. But I am not in a position to control the reaction of the Greek side," Panariti declared.
