Tirana police arrested the mayor and the deputy mayor of Kamëz yesterday afternoon for abuse of office and violation of equality in tenders, an offense punishable by up to 7 years in prison. Police sources explain that the घटना occurred around 18:15, in one of the bar-pastry shops near the Presidency, for which police had information that the head of the Kamëz Municipality was there. Specifically, this concerns a violation of equality in the tender for the construction of the “Valias i Ri-Laknas” road, worth 80 million lek, carried out in May 2013. Meanwhile, the head of the Kamëz Municipality legal office, Adil Hoti, was also declared wanted for the same accusation. Referring to the prosecutor’s office, an official from the Tirana Prosecutor’s Task Force is understood to have reached the conclusion that the two officials committed unlawful acts...
