The draft law, organized into 36 articles, aims to define the medals, the criteria for awarding them, and the authorities entitled to grant them to military and civilian personnel serving in the army, as well as to foreign military personnel distinguished for special merits and contributions. The new law provides for the recognition of medals awarded before this law enters into force. Thus, the “Medal of Appreciation,” awarded a few months ago to the former member of the Central Committee of the PPSH, Vito Kapo, will continue to be recognized by the Albanian government. Meanwhile, the subjects of the draft law are active, reserve, discharged or retired military personnel, civilian staff, units of the Armed Forces, as well as foreign military personnel who stand out for special merits and contributions in the army.
