WHO IS THE BLOODTHIRSTY ONE CHASING AFTER THE ALBANIAN
(FOR THE LAND’S SAKE)
Sali, our father! The land still bore the mark that it is called Albania, and a century and a half later we think that a nation has been torn up by the roots from the soil in which it was planted. Yes, there are Albanians who do not know their own word. They appeared not only as a desert but as a desert still through the centuries. Albania is not their country of origin but their fatherland. The Albanian has sold his soul in broad daylight; he has been taken hostage by someone who does not know his bread. They have entered the centuries like people condemned to carry a burden. There have been centuries when it seemed they did not exist. The land gathered them like grains of wheat in order to protect them against destruction. That is why for us the land is motherhood and pain. [Continued on p. 4]
DEBATE WITH RAMIZ ALIA
In the indifferent, cold and “moral” setting of the strike, present in the presidium. Gjosh? The pleasure for me to make it criminal from the twists of the moon. This distortion of the Albanian is not experienced in its entirety. I do not like to close off a bitter truth. For this we have lived. Below we publish excerpts from the debate held in a hall where Alia was also present. (Continued on p. 4)
A human voice
MEDITATIONS ON A MINISTERIAL BOTHER
Well today, how much envy of euphorism. The man of recession!... The irresponsible man... I am sure that from the offices [...] he will emerge with his prejudices. By no means do I still feel myself to be a suffering man. I think of that minister beyond the podium of speeches. Indeed, the depth of his conversation leads one to think with curiosity. To those who call him a man without feelings, I would remind them that perhaps it was precisely he who was calmer and more thoughtful than the others. He is speaking to us. Shall we let him suggest? For self-control was like that. Toward the word of the future. Perhaps, in the end, he will manage to remain a true Albanian. MARASH MIRASHI
Dr. KASTRIOT ISLAMI FACING VIKTOR MARTINI
Votes... He proceeds with the tactics of “Viktor Matini” and addresses his interlocutor: “So then we made Sokolina Chairman! Of the communities!?” - Sto-socialists, not after you, but he has changed his mind. In this conversation the minister spoke about reforms, local government, pluralism, and responsibilities. I do not agree with what Viktor says. For example, more democracy in parliament and we are at that tunnel. That is why this polemic has continued in sharp tones. MARASH MIRASHI
NAPOLEON POSHI votes in Greek Albania
In this issue, continuation of the publication of the article by poet NAPOLEON POSHI “THE DAMAGE OF TROY AND ODYSSEUS, THE HAND OF NOLI AT THE RUDDER” published in the Greek newspaper “TO VIMA” on 24 November of this year. We ask for these clarifications regarding this polemic that arose here and in the other Albanian press.
EDITORIAL BOARD I understand the concern and indignation of my friends! It would not be a great discovery, but it is one thing to engage in debates about cultures, and another to destroy ourselves, even with our own past. Things of this sort have been done. Our sin is that we have not been sufficiently protected. As it could also happen. Sometimes this is worse than anything else. We thought we were escaping from one evil and then we return to another. We are losing a consciousness multiplied through the centuries. Today they laugh at us. [Text continues in the lower column:] All this leads to great questions. How can a nation be imagined without its memory? How can history be treated as a spoil to be divided up according to the day’s whim? It pains me to see how names, figures, symbols and signs of identity are so easily declared foreign. This is a dangerous path. I do not know whether one day we will be able to reverse this damage. But I do know that silence would be even heavier.
A tiny little curiosity in the television magazine
What kind of champion? And to see what is happening with this uproar? How little, how easily can you deceive us? In the article the author speaks about a phenomenon that has gained momentum on television and about the way cultural life is portrayed. The frequent appearances, the noisy programs and the lack of judgment are impoverishing the public’s taste. Instead of selection, we have cacophony. Instead of analysis, we have empty phrases. This harms the culture of the viewer.
