(FOR THE LAND’S SAKE) Sali, our father! The land still bore the mark that it is called Albania, and a century and a half later we think that a nation has been torn up by the roots from the soil in which it was planted. Yes, there are Albanians who do not know their own word. They appeared not only as a desert but as a desert still through the centuries. Albania is not their country of origin but their fatherland. The Albanian has sold his soul in broad daylight; he has been taken hostage by someone who does not know his bread. They have entered the centuries like people condemned to carry a burden. There have been centuries when it seemed they did not exist. The land gathered them like grains of wheat in order to protect them against destruction. The frequent appearances, the noisy programs and the lack of judgment are impoverishing the public’s taste. Instead of selection, we have cacophony. Instead of analysis, we have empty phrases. This harms the culture of the viewer.
