Where does all this love for the South come from?
The issue has recently been given great and prolonged attention by the voice of the beginnings, not without purpose. But who is this import letter really sounding the alarm for? There is no need to wonder about those who stand above all the accounts of the «mother state», all those who pursue and hate this country and obey only foreign orders. But not only for such incendiaries. It is known that such a goal is never expressed only with sticks and words. It goes further, aiming to hurt, divide, and stir up North-South quarrels and hatred. Whose appetite does this tune awaken?
In an article titled «Southerners of the north», published in «Zëri i Popullit» on 18 January, its author, together with a few others, has taken it upon himself to serve as an advocate for a perverse idea. By distorting facts and people, he tries to create the impression that a silent purge against southerners is taking place in Albania. In reality, this is a petty political trick. Anyone who knows today’s reality understands that our problem is not the North or the South, but the collapse of a system that is trying to survive with old intrigues.
Who is stimulating anti-law in Albania?

Success, we establish rules, and even the jackals are proclaimed in the «pasallaj». To argue with this human species and find reasonable arguments with them is like talking to a stone. These people, whom I would regretfully also call such, knowingly or deceitfully serve chaos. The rotten pillars of the socialist building are wobbling and falling, but some of them still want to spew smoke and flames. That is why today, instead of speaking of freedom, law and democracy, some voices from the old propaganda try to convince us that the danger comes from regions and from people, not from anti-law.
A deliberate double-talking of meanness is being carried out through their press and through others like it. Intentional malice is well known. Not everyone has an interest in seeing Albania move calmly along the path of reforms and national reconciliation. There are those who deliberately feed division in order to return to the political stage as «saviors».
Those at «Zëri» insist that «southerners» are being removed from the administration, but they provide no verifiable facts. On the contrary, if the names of the new officials are examined, it becomes clear that in Albania there is no regional purge, but a political reshuffle. It is understandable that after decades of monism, change also brings tension, but that does not give anyone the right to stir up hatred among Albanians.
We must not allow a new enemy to be invented in the name of a region or a dialect. Such acts are harmful to everyone. A state based on the rule of law cannot be built on slander. Anti-law, not the South or the North, is our enemy. And against it we must all rise.
