This dishonest act with the vote seeks the resurrection of dictatorship through a narrow, rotten and dangerous link with the notorious Sigurimi and with all the other structures of the dictatorship. Would the leaders of the PD accept it if they themselves were asked to carry out such an act? Certainly not. On the contrary, the people clearly know what their choice is for Albania’s future. This is the path of democracy, not a return to the past. In these difficult times, it is necessary for the new government to be supported sincerely, but at the same time also criticized fraternally whenever it makes mistakes or leaves room for abuses. This is the best way to help the democratic process and defend the interests of the people. The fight against corruption and the privileges of the old nomenklatura must be firm. Likewise, there must be transparency regarding privatization, property restitution, and citizens’ rights. There can be no democracy without justice and without law. Albania stands at a historic crossroads. Therefore, prudence, responsibility, and honesty are required from everyone. Only in this way can division be avoided and a better future built.

It was a matter of, in particular, many names have been recorded, but in simple terms this was stolen and hidden goods. What about the last days? These details show a not very clear climate. A strong effort was made to find a place and bring the market into a normal state, but the consequences of previous years cannot be overcome immediately. Further on, there is discussion of the movement of goods, fiscal matters, and networks operating outside the law. Old connections and various influences were used to avoid control. Nevertheless, the institutions must intervene decisively. The situation is also difficult because there is no clear trading practice. There are cases where goods pass from hand to hand without documents and without responsibility. This causes damage both to the state and to citizens. In the end, the need for equal rules, punishment of abusers, and support for honest trade is set out.

In one respect, in the early years after the fall of the communist regime, it is becoming increasingly clear that the state administration cannot be reformed without a clear break from the old structures and cadres compromised by the abuses of the past. There are people who today, in the name of professionalism, try to justify keeping in office individuals who were part of the repressive system. In fact, a new administration must be based not only on professional ability, but also on moral and political integrity. Citizens cannot have trust in a democratic state if the same people who yesterday served the dictatorship blindly continue to remain in its offices. A distinction must be made between those who worked under ordinary conditions and those who had direct responsibility in the repressive apparatus, in propaganda, in the distortion of the law, or in the pursuit of political opponents. The latter cannot be part of the new administration. This purge is not revenge, but a condition for restoring public trust and building sound institutions. Without it, every reform remains half-finished and every promise of democracy unsupported.
