— Yesterday Skalfaro arrived in Tirana for a working and friendly visit at the invitation of Mr. Berisha. At noon he delivered a speech in parliament, a speech that was warmly received by the parliamentarians. He was excellent in his speech, which led the parliamentarians to listen attentively. Berisha was the most focused on Skalfaro’s excellence.

ON SUNDAY: PANIC! HE WILL DEFEAT MILOŠEVIĆ In recent days, the well-known lawyer Mr. SPARTAK NGJELA, who is also known as a serious political analyst, was asked by a foreign news agency and by our editorial office what opinion he could give about Sunday’s elections in Yugoslavia. He said: Without wishing to go into a lengthy argument, I say that in these elections Panic will defeat Milošević. There is a very good chance this will happen, and if it does, a new policy will begin in the Balkans; Albanian politics, meanwhile, must be very attentive from then on. At the end he added: Clinton’s election as president of the United States gives Panic a boost in Sunday’s elections. It should be noted that Mr. NGJELA is one of the few analysts who believes Panic will emerge as president in Sunday’s elections.

On 15 December, the Tirana District Court examined the case against the defendant Kostaq Çifliku, accused in connection with the matter of those responsible at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At the conclusion of the trial, Kostaq Çifliku was found guilty of abuse of office and sentenced under the law to six months of rehabilitation through work. Thus, in accordance with an unavoidable paradox, Kostaq Çifliku, who was placed on assistance almost seven months ago, must return to work for six months until he has served the sentence imposed by the district court.
