On 5 January, the newspaper RD failed as a reflection of the written life of the last two years. It would have been the best occasion to affirm its strength as the chief mouthpiece of the ruling party, but also a powerful argument against those who have declared who lies more: on Saturday, “RD”, or the daily “ZP”. These figures have become more and more blatant day by day. They have been mentioned hundreds of times even in the independent press, such as “Koha jonë” and “Republika”, where the PD newspaper itself has come under criticism. So what is the problem? “RD” costs 30 qindarka. Who pays? Apart from the small and large propagandists who gather around its offices? Therefore, “RD” cannot take a single step on its own. A small part of the financial obligations comes from state firms and enterprises that sponsor it. This situation makes one suspect, as Albanians also suspect, that through this mechanism “RD” carried out over the past two years the mission of the official newspaper of a regime that, contrary to the laws of the market economy, claimed not to exist. Its pages were produced at the price of 8 lek! Burdened with the tasks of political and power-oriented press, it could not manage to denounce and criticize its own thieves. On the contrary, it had to protect them. Without the presence of fabricated heroes, a journalist is interested in uncovering the truth, not in pleasing superiors. It seeks the work of a colleague and not enslavement. Loyalty, not lies. This is something that a newspaper that has lost its freedom and independence finds difficult to understand. The truth is that, with the first session of its defense, on the first day of January, the journalists of the editorial office of the daily TV-Sues[?] after their 4,000 km journey to Tirana, “TV-sues” cannot broadcast the separate[?] chapters and stories and holes. Without journalistic taste. In the same way, it managed to use hundreds of hidden and unknown things to strike at its opponents. They need to justify the zeal of power. They will gather on the anniversary with high probability, but the most important thing is that they have turned into a blunt instrument of propaganda. How many such are there today? “RD” probably knows better. Citizens, meanwhile, must make the comparison.

A few days before the New Year, Albanian television was put into use and became a free tool for covering lies with timed control. The commentaries of the first days of January were filled with organized language, pale figures and a tedious portrayal. The work of Albanian Television has for years been closely tied to the old apparatus and to the way everything is presented. Now it appears as a major institution, but it still cannot free itself from the consequences of the past. Today’s government, instead of breaking away from yesterday’s legacy, seeks to give it a new face with old people. The screen journalists remain the same, even when the words change. Instead of information, the public receives staged enthusiasm. And that is the big problem.

TELEVISION COLE I am sorry that with my language I did not want to become unbearable over this matter, but after so much crushing from some of your radio employees, I too remembered that words are a weapon. When the first issue of “Radio RD” was put on the market, many people received it with surprise, but most understood that the former editor-in-chief of “RD” had entered this work to create another propaganda tool. You have continued to publish things against anyone who thinks differently. In its pages, accusations and insinuations have become routine. As soon as PD television was launched, many felt that a new spirit was entering. But it soon became clear that it did not differ much from “RD” either. The same voices, the same slanders, the same attempts to preach one-sided morality. That is why I am telling you that your corrective work is useless. It serves not the public, but the party. And the public understands this.
