— Does this matter to our Government? And does the Albanian people care to know the whole truth? — How does the Albanian Government understand its role: to fuel discord between Albanians and their Greek neighbors, or to do the opposite, that is, work in favor of friendship? — What has the Albanian Government done so far for our refugees in Greece? — Why did the Albanian refugees leave Greece immediately after the visit to Athens by our senior officials Arboni and Serregi? Could they have got something confused? — Is the policy of the current Albanian Government toward Greece different from that of the Albanian governments during the communist period? What is the difference? — The editorial staff of the newspaper «Koha Jonë» undertakes to do soon what the Albanian Government and official press are not doing: to approach our state institutions and those in Athens, in order to tell the truth about the refugees’ return. The return of Albanian refugees from Greece has by now become known to all Albanian public opinion. This has undoubtedly been met not only with concern but also with people’s fear for their livelihoods. The reason is that the income our country receives from refugees in Greece is the main source of income in Albania. Most Albanian families have someone working in Greece. The interruption of this support is comparable to stopping the serum drip for a patient in bed. Albania is fortunate to have these people working beyond its borders, just as it is unfortunate to have no other source of income. Here, in Albania, people work and fields are cultivated and produce crops. We can say that the Albanian Government does no particular harm to the Albanian people, but first and foremost it does them no good either. In this (continued on page 4) L. SKIROI
