Warning of a hunger strike

A well-informed source informed our editorial office that the directors of Tirana’s PTT offices, acting on an order handed down by the state authority of the PD party, have drawn up a list of people whose telephones are scheduled to be disconnected in the capital. According to the source, the list consists of 1,500 names. It is said that this campaign will affect the political opponents of the PD (or those considered former communists, pensioners, members of opposition political parties, etc.). We emphasize that Tirana would be the third city where this action is carried out, after Shkodra, where 300 telephone numbers were disconnected in January, and Durrës, where 150 numbers were disconnected. We remind readers that, ironically, during the March 22 election campaign, the PD leaders, in a moment of exuberance, declared before the television cameras that “the PD will bring a telephone to every Albanian family.”
