Today, shortly after 9 o’clock in the morning, during the visit, Berisha said that Turkish President Turgut Ozal, in his office, in the center of all diplomatic activity, was expected to arrive in Albania. It was reported that on Thursday, around 2:30 p.m., Prosecutor Shefqet Koko ordered the detention of the former Prime Minister of the technical government, Mr. Vilson Ahmeti. According to sources, the prosecutor was accompanied by police officers, who went to Mr. Ahmeti’s home. Today, a judge is expected to deal with the investigation into the matter of the 600 thousand dollars that are being discussed in connection with Albania’s foreign debt. Mr. Ahmeti, while serving as interim prime minister, had signed an arrest order as a mediator in connection with the foreign debt. As for the date on which Mr. Vilson Ahmeti was detained, no details are given. We remind readers that after the fall of the government, the state and the Treasury (the director and manager of the commercial bank) were involved in a free-withdrawal case linked to the scandal of 1,600,000 dollars.
