We are 14 vendors working at the No. 4 taxi stand in Durrës. Our shop was built in the 1960s by the state. This is also attested to by the construction works plan kept in the archives of the State Bank in Durrës. We were astonished when we received the order from the Municipality to vacate the shops because their owner, Minister Artan Hoxha, would take them over. To obtain justice, we have appealed to the Durrës court and prosecutor’s office, as well as to the Court of Cassation, but all these legal bodies withdraw as soon as they learn that the case concerns Minister Hoxha. What are we to do? Why should we, who have worked in these shops for years, have to leave, knowing that our units were built by the state? How can what was formerly state property become Mr. Hoxha’s private property? There are documents proving this. Or do documents not matter when it comes to ministers? How long will justice remain the leadership’s monopoly, at the expense of ordinary people?

Four days ago, a soldier was killed at the military unit in Gjadër, Lezhë. According to the information we have managed to obtain so far, the soldier was killed by a fellow soldier. From conversations with investigation officers, we learn that the killing was not committed for any particular motive, but simply as a result of negligence. M.I..
