It can no longer be said that these are merely brief marriages between Albanians and foreign men. Like many episodes that initially attracted sensational attention, the marriages mentioned above have also become part of the flow of events that no longer make an impression on anyone. What makes the times we are going through distinctive is the marriages of foreign girls to Albanian boys. After the marriage of a Greek girl to a young man from Salaria, Tepelenë, another case has been recorded, this time in Pogradec. This case concerns 16-year-old Zonja Herman from Hamburg, Germany, who is undoubtedly in love with and gets engaged to Ardian Zhuti from Starova, Pogradec, who left Albania three years ago. The beautiful 16-year-old German girl, free of prejudice, set out entirely on her own in the last days of the previous month, travelling from her birthplace to distant Starovë to announce her engagement in front of the boy’s parents and his relatives.
