Radio Shkodër transmission interrupted
—A citizen with a tractor cuts the transmission antenna cable
The interruption of Radio Shkodër’s broadcast for over an hour on Thursday afternoon came unexpectedly. At first, everything seemed inexplicable, both to the citizens of Shkodër and to the radio employees themselves, who could not recall anything of the kind ever happening. Later, everything became clear. A resident of the village of Kuç, near the city of Shkodër, where the entire cable of Radio Shkodër station’s transmitting antenna runs, had caused all this concern among the radio employees. The villager in question was carrying out some unauthorized work with his tractor in the area of the transmission building and, as a result, cut the antenna cable, alarming the employees of Radio Shkodër station, who apparently feared sabotage. Once everything had been clarified, the necessary measures were taken.
Broadcasting resumed with a retaliatory statement in which Radio-Shkodra expressed its indignation and also apologized to its listeners. “Now all that remains is for unauthorized construction to begin in the courtyard of Radio Shkodër,” the statement said ironically, while it remained unknown what some villager from Kuç had in mind to build in the area of the transmitting antenna.
