Tuz - Montenegro For four days, citizens of Shkodër who travel to Montenegro every day have been systematically robbed by Montenegrin Chetniks, some of whom also disguise themselves as police officers. It should be said that their activities are also being fought by the police of that country. But the victims of the robberies are always the unprotected citizens from Shkodër. We are informed that a citizen from Shkodër had his private car stolen. As for other belongings, money, dollars and marks, robberies are commonplace and have reached as much as 1 million lekë. It should be noted that citizens of Shkodër have reported the incidents to the Montenegrin police, who have taken their claims seriously and are working to prevent such acts.

In just the last three months, there have been 20–30 blood-feud killings in these two districts. Car and motorcycle accidents resulting in deaths also account for a considerable figure, but it should be said that recently, with the measures taken by the road inspectorate, accidents have decreased. The overall figure is an indication of a “silent” war in these two districts in the northern border area, since it is comparable to the number of victims of the war in Bosnia.

Yesterday, the “EXPO-94” trade fair opened at the International Center of Culture. Many trading and manufacturing firms from central Tirana are taking part in this fair. The fair will remain open until March 4.
