Doctors kidnap newborn baby

Criminal proceedings begin against 8 doctors “The Mafia in white coats” - Scandal erupts at Tirana maternity hospital A mother goes to the capital’s maternity hospital to give birth and the doctors steal her baby. Just minutes after the child cried for the first time, the woman was sent out of the maternity ward, being told that the baby had died. The baby’s number, the child’s chart and the woman’s records then disappeared, and the baby’s documents were falsified. It was the persistence of the victim’s aunt, and especially the firm intervention of the maternity hospital director, that accomplished the miracle. The child was returned to her mother’s embrace, while yesterday the complaint reached the Tirana prosecutor’s office and criminal proceedings began against 8 doctors from the maternity hospital. According to sources inside this hospital, one of the most well-known figures in gynecology is also believed to be involved in the scandal. Although this issue prompted an extraordinary meeting with the Minister of Health, attempts have begun to uncover and serve the truth. But there is an exclusive statement for “KJ” from the protagonist of the event herself, which sheds light on the scandal. However, it is still not known whether this was the first case in our maternity hospitals or whether chance uncovered the last.

5 traffickers and 10 tanker trucks with fuel seized

Two police officers injured by the smugglers’ vehicles Special forces operation SHKODËR - 10 “imprisoned” tanker trucks, 5 smugglers in handcuffs and 2 police officers injured in an accident. This is the successful but at the same time dramatic outcome of a “blitz” by the capital’s special forces carried out two days ago in the coastal village of Velipojë in Shkodër. The operation began at dawn on Wednesday. Large police forces from unit 711, arriving from Tirana, had “attacked” the horde of fuel smugglers destined for Montenegro. The results of the police operation were in fact immediate. 10 tanker trucks and 5 smugglers were seized. But half of the other group managed to get away as fast as they could. On Wednesday afternoon, at the end of the operation, the line of trucks carrying the “black gold” set off toward Lezhë. But now the vehicles abandoned by their drivers were replaced by police drivers from the special forces. However, in Torovicë, near Lezhë, the tanker trucks taken “prisoner” overtook a private car which lightly hit one of the trucks. Its driver, 25-year-old Qemal Visha, who was following unit 711, was unable to control himself and the vehicle, after making two somersaults, crashed to the ground. “After the accident I moved away because I was afraid the tanker truck might explode,” says Agron Sinomaku, the other police officer who was in the same car as Visha. Fortunately, the tanker was not carrying gasoline, but diesel, and so no explosion occurred. However, the accident was not without consequences. A. Sinomaku, 21, from Klioja in Tirana, had suffered a serious chest injury, but according to the doctors at the military hospital where the officer was admitted on Wednesday evening, his life is not in danger. His colleague, Visha, was even luckier. He had suffered only a slight scratch. Z. DULE

Vili Klaes on trial for corruption

Parliament stripped him of immunity last night The latest Reuters agency reports said that the Belgian parliament, by 97 votes in favor, 52 against and one invalid vote, decided last night to remove NATO Secretary General Vili Klaes’s immunity and send him before the bench of the Court of Cassation. Klaes’s immunity was lifted on charges of corruption, fraud and falsification of documents. After this decision by parliament, he is expected to resign from his post as NATO Secretary General. These three charges are enough, the Court of Cassation says, for the investigation to continue, said the chairman of the legal affairs committee of the Belgian parliament, Raymond Langendries.
