Albanian emigrants will not be legalized
The Albanian issue remains unresolved until the disputes between Athens and Tirana are settled
Once again, the 200,000 Albanian emigrants are being asked to pay the price of the unstable Athens-Tirana relations. Greece’s Minister of Labour, Stefanos Xhumas, announced that the draft law for the legalization of foreign emigrants in Greece will soon be submitted to the national parliament, a law from which Albanian emigrants are excluded, until the disputes between the governments of Albania and Greece are resolved, mainly concerning the education of the Greek minority in Albania. According to sources from the Ministry of Labour, the exclusion of Albanian emigrants is temporary, but no one knows how long this “temporary” interval may last.

Two organizers of the escape arrested
They were trying to take 7 clandestine migrants to Italy in the company truck
DURRËS - The dream of going by ferry to Italy has been shattered for 7 Albanian clandestine migrants, but also for the two guards of the Albanian-Italian company “Fiat Ag-er”, who had put the company truck at the disposal of the “escapees”. In fact, the Durrës district police station has detained them. The starting point of the group of 7 clandestines was one of the company’s facilities (prë) [?] “Fiat-Ag-er” located by the sea. Moreover, the two accused guards of the company, Shyqyri Dervishi, 32, and Fatos Abili, 34, had prepared everything, from “recruiting” the clients to securing the ideal hiding place: inside the company truck, which was to sail on the ferry to Italy. But police officers blocked their undertaking before it had even begun to take off. The 7 clandestines returned home disheartened, while the 2 civilian guards “emigrated” to the isolation rooms of the Durrës Police Station.
