The Korabi fishing boat traffics plutonium
The captain and part of the crew detained in Italy on Sunday
Accused of trafficking arms and radioactive materials
Italy The Korabi fishing boat traffics plutonium The captain and part of the crew detained in Italy on Sunday Accused of trafficking arms and radioactive materials As reported by the television station ITALIA-1, the captain of the vessel “Korabi” and part of its crew were detained on Sunday in Pescara, Italy. The Albanians are accused of trafficking arms and radioactive materials (plutonium). Although this quantity of plutonium was not found on board the vessel during the search, it is claimed that, frightened by the police, the traffickers dumped the plutonium into the sea as soon as the search began. A specialist group of the maritime police is now continuing the search at sea, in the area where this radioactive material may have been dumped. It is worth noting that the number of Albanians arrested in Italy has risen sharply in recent times, most of them accused of trafficking refugees (but also of murder, prostitution, arms and drugs), while this is perhaps the first case in which an Albanian has been accused of transporting radioactive materials. The source, purpose and route of this cargo are still unknown. In any case, the whole matter is still at the investigation stage. M.SH.

Five Albanian children forced to beg in Italy
3 Albanians arrested for “exploitation and trafficking of minors”—the children’s parents also charged
On Saturday, the Italian authorities repatriated 5 Albanian children.
They were between 8 and 12 years old. They had been found on the streets of Varese, a northern city, hungry, in rags and unwashed, begging—not because they wanted to, but because they were being forced to. They had been brought there secretly by motosca(f) several months earlier. After landing in the south, they had first been taken to Milan and then ultimately to Varese, and every evening they had to hand over to their exploiters the money they had collected by begging. If they did not hand over as much money as they were asked for, they were beaten mercilessly and left without food. The perpetrators of this cruelty are three people of Albanian nationality, who are now under arrest on charges of “kidnapping and forcing minors into a state of slavery.”
But the epilogue to this story is even sadder.
The Italian police have filed five more reports, directed at the parents of the five children. Investigations showed that they had known everything; indeed, they themselves had lent their children to the arrested criminals in exchange for payment.

As a consequence of the increase in the cost of producing the newspaper, and especially of paper, which is [unclear] on the world market, and given that the cost of publication will rise again on 1 May by around 15%, while bearing the burden of a host of taxes and duties, and since the Government still has not given a definitive and official response to the demands set out in the declaration by 14 Albanian newspapers, we are compelled to announce that from Wednesday the newspaper “Koha Jonë” will be sold for 20 lekë. We are forced to make this price increase by the financial strain that has affected the entire Albanian press.
