Investigation into Turkish drug trafficker concluded

-He was caught with 3 kg of heroin Three months of investigations for 3 kg of heroin. This is how long it took the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office to finally shed light on the most important anti-drug case in Albania. After intensive investigations, only one of the two arrested Turkish citizens remained the protagonist of this story. The afternoon of 6 February this year was destined to become the time of the most sensational operation so far in the fight against drugs in Albania. The incident took place at the intersection at the entrance to Tirana known as Zogu i Zi. Following a successful operation by the forces of the special anti-drug unit of the Ministry of Interior, 27-year-old Turkish citizen Mustafa Ataseven was detained. After the car was searched, three packages of heroin, each weighing 1 kg, were found in his bag. Immediately afterwards, his rented home near the “21 Dhjetori” neighborhood was also searched. During the search of the home, three other Turkish citizens were also detained, two of whom were teachers at the “Mehmet Akif” college in the capital. The third was Sinan Çakmak, a biscuit trader who had been living in this home with Ataseven for some time. After 48 hours, the college teachers were released, as they had happened to be there at that moment. Sinan Çakmak was also released after two and a half months in custody, since no direct involvement by him in the incident came to light. According to the well-known investigator Mr. Thoma Jano, who was in charge of the special team of investigators looking into the case, the guilt of 27-year-old Mustafa Ataseven has been fully established. He now faces charges of possessing and trafficking narcotic substances. The case file is expected to be sent to the Tirana Court shortly for the trial to begin. A. PEZA
