The Foreign Minister had a special meeting the day before yesterday with Prime Minister Aleksandër Meksi on this issue, which was considered very important to be discussed on Monday in the Government. Through this scheme, 21 new customs posts will be created, 13 with Greece and 8 with former Yugoslavia. Because of the difficult terrain and the insufficient infrastructure for the movement of goods and people through many of them, the Albanian state has not so far established any such customs post on the part of the border with Greece and former Yugoslavia. In the new scheme drawn up by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Southern Albania it is planned to open ten border posts on the frontier with Greece. They are the places known as Tre Urat, Qafë-Botë, Kapshticë, Sopot, Vidohovë, Leskovik, Benjë, Çarshovë, Radat, Kamicë and Vërmosh. Among these, the most important are the Tre Urat and Kapshticë posts. The Tre Urat border post is located near the village of Çarshovë in the Përmet district. It would make possible the connection with the prefecture of Ioannina in Greece via the road to the place called Mertzjan. The distance from the town of Përmet to this border post is 13 km.
