Red China, with more than 1.2 billion inhabitants, after the great thaw in 1978, yesterday received the President of the “little brother,” Albania. Having set off on Sunday and traveled 8,000 kilometers, Berisha and the delegation he heads arrived yesterday early in the morning in the Chinese capital. Thus, as of yesterday, Haxhi Lleshi is no longer the last president to have set foot on Chinese soil. It should be said that since 1962 no Albanian head of state had visited China, for reasons now well known.

Dates of the national team matches are set
Last night in Frankfurt, for France ’98
20 August - 10 September ’97, three matches in 20 days
After a meeting lasting almost 7 hours at the premises of the German Football Federation in Frankfurt, where the Germans and Portuguese would not yield, the dates of our group’s matches for France ’98 were determined. Present were Vogt, Oliveira, Bajko, the coach of Northern Ireland, and the general secretaries of the football federations of Ukraine and Armenia. Our national team will play its first match in Tirana after almost 10 months, on 9 October 1996, when it will face Portugal.
“We could not accept any kind of match for the first five months of this year because of the second phase of the reconstruction of ‘Qemal Stafa’ stadium,” Eduard Dervishi said to “KJ”. One month later, Albania will host Armenia again in Tirana. The special thing is that we will play two matches within four days in Tirana against Ukraine and Germany. But even worse, within 20 days, from 20 August to 10 September 1997, the national team will play three matches in a row. The dates are indeed suitable, but we could do nothing. It will be difficult,” coach Bajko said last night,
