But in the spirit of journalistic ethics and the passion to be close to events, we decided to accompany this news with the necessary professional care. In the “Koha” newsroom, Mr. Altin Hazizaj had informed his superiors about the work he would do, but instead of information for the newspaper, around 1:30 p.m. he would be arrested in the offices of the Democratic Party. But at around 2 p.m. in the office of the editor of the newspaper “Koha Jonë”, Aleksandër Frangaj, three people entered who, without introducing themselves, dragged our journalist, our colleague Altin Hazizaj, to Police Station No. 3. Against 8 p.m., on the newsroom phone, a person who identified himself as the chief of criminal police at the Tirana Police Directorate, Sulo Balla, informed us that our reporter was under arrest, accused of leaking secret information that seriously harms the state. It is learned that last night Hazizaj had been subjected to a search of his home and office. In a statement to the newspaper “Koha Jonë”, sources close to the former prime minister and Democratic Party deputy Ylli Bufi stated that he intends to resign as a deputy of the People’s Assembly. Bufi made this decision after the harsh reactions that have appeared against him recently, related to his role in the stability government. According to the same sources, the former prime minister has decided to withdraw from active political life and turn to private activity. This decision is expected to be formalized in the coming days. If his resignation is filed, the parliamentary mandate will pass to the next candidate on the PD list.
