Fatos Nano declared Honorary Citizen

After Berisha’s speech in Tepelenë - The Municipal Council challenges power Pëllumbi: The decision is a response to Berisha’s unrestrained attacks against Nano Godo: This decision is a demonstrative political move An unusual decision, taken the day before yesterday at midday, has declared the imprisoned leader of the Socialist Party an honorary citizen of Tepelenë. It was the Municipal Council of the small southern town that, with only one vote against, decided that Nano should be an Honorary Citizen of the town, where, only two kilometers away, he is serving a sentence of more than two years. At a press conference organized yesterday at the Tepelenë Municipality, its chairman, Skënder Hasa, informed reporters of the sensational decision. “Following the proposal of a group of socialist councillors and with the consensus of the local councillors of PSD and PUK, Nano was declared Honorary Citizen of Tepelenë. The only one against this consensus was the PD councillor,” the PS-nominated chairman of the Municipality told reporters. page 3

PSD, for the first time at the Socialist headquarters

Confidential meeting of the social democrats with the leaders of the PS Pre-election cooperation was discussed Gjinushi and Apostoli in more than two hours of talks with Dokle, Pëllumbi and Ruka For the first time the social democrats meet one-to-one with the leaders of the PS at the headquarters of the latter. The meeting between the socialists and the social democrats lasted more than two hours, with the main issue being the much-discussed problem of pre-electoral cooperation. “We met and talked about the issues of pre-electoral cooperation.” Thus spoke Socialist deputy chairman Dokle after the meeting. On the other hand, although an approach to the socialists has never been seen as definite by Gjinushi’s PSD, he prefers to remain silent about the substance of yesterday’s meeting page 3

Clarification for readers

We apologize for the quality of the archives of today’s issue, since the entire editorial staff of “Koha Jonë” yesterday, from 07:00 in the morning until 20:00, had no electricity to work and no telephone to communicate with reporters in the districts. So all the articles were arranged, edited and paginated after 20:00. Only late last night, with the personal insistence of the Director of Tirana Telecom, Mr. Hekuran Cenku, the telephone line was restored, with only the number 28796. EDITORIAL STAFF
