Is Nano’s decoration legal?

After Nano is declared “Honorary Citizen,” lawyers and politicians react Lawyers: The decoration is neither legal nor illegal Brojka: A challenge to legal authority Minister Kosovarsti: Full competence of local government Milo: Awards can also be received in prison “Nano’s decoration? This is only a moral act, neither legal nor illegal.” This is how Albanian specialists and jurists comment on the decision of the Tepelena Municipality, which only a few days ago awarded the imprisoned PS leader the title of “honorary citizen.” Legal or illegal, the decision of the municipal council of the southern city appears to have sparked new controversy in Albanian public opinion. pages 8-9 The high-security prison in Bënçë, where Fatos Nano is serving his sentence

With LDSH, but without Godo

Rally of the right-wing organized by PDD Kalakulla: Godo, the “Trojan Horse” for the Right “We are not in favor of breaking up the LDSH and we are ready to cooperate with its parties, but as a condition we set the non-presence in it of the PR”, said the chairman of PDD, Petrit Kalakulla, at Sunday’s rally. He added that “until now we have remained silent so as not to create tensions in the right-wing spectrum, but we are forced to declare that the leader of the PR and of the League, Godo, is playing the role of the Trojan Horse in the Albanian Right.” page 4

Koha Jonë journalist hit over the head with a crowbar

Ends up in intensive care after a barbaric attack 22 journalists from Elbasan protest ELBASAN - The “Koha Jonë” journalist for Peqin, Aleko Likja, ended up in hospital after a barbaric assault. On Saturday at midday, three people attacked him, striking him with hard objects on the head and all over his body, A. Likja. The attack is linked to a story the journalist had published a day earlier concerning the closure of the bingo hall in the city of Peqin. At the time the “KJ” journalist was struck, four police officers were very close to the scene, but they preferred not to intervene. In a coma, Likaj was immediately taken to the intensive care unit of the Elbasan hospital. Hospitalized there for two days, he has severe cuts on his head, and fractures in his leg and hands. After this violent act, 22 journalists from the Elbasan branch of the Association of Professional Journalists strongly protested, demanding the arrest of the perpetrators and safety in carrying out their duty. Regarding this act, all the journalists of “Koha Jonë” protest and demand that the authorities arrest the aggressors. The savage attack on our colleague from Peqin is not the first and may be repeated. Several times we have asked for safety and protection while carrying out our duty, but unfortunately acts of violence are increasing day by day. There have also been colleagues who have lost their lives as a result of such attacks. Faced with the dangers that threaten journalists, both from police officers themselves and from people on the street, the editorial staff of “KJ” strongly demands that the two journalists’ associations insist on securing a special status for all professional journalists. The editorial staff of “KJ” also asks the medical staff of the Elbasan hospital to do everything possible to help our colleague from Peqin. B.DYBELI Editorial staff
