U.S.: We are concerned about irregularities in the voting

Urgent interpellation in the Italian Parliament: Our aid to Albania is linked to respect for human rights After the violence surrounding the elections and the obvious irregularities in the opposition’s results, the American embassy in Tirana has issued an unusual statement expressing concern and asking the Albanian authorities to calm the situation. Meanwhile, the election counting chamber in Albania has announced that counting will continue, while international observers have expressed indignation at interference in the counting process. The two largest opposition parties have made it clear that they will not accept the manipulated results and have walked out of parliament. The OSCE is ultimately softened regarding violations of the right to vote during the elections. page 3
