A senior government official dares and strikes
What happened yesterday to one of the publishers, the writer Shehi, who was briefed in the newsroom by the deputy prime minister, is truly shameful: he punched a JOURNALIST named FROK Çupi in the face. For a moment it seemed he, enraged, would go to the prime minister’s office and punch him in the face. A coffee cup from a deputy minister and the Persian personality was bloodied. Frok Çupi moved and could not escape. He tried several times to get away from the official’s rage, but Frok Çupi was unable to keep his composure and avoid losing it. Can one still believe that there are civilized people in this government? Can one still believe that there are officials at the head of the state who respect the law? Can one still believe that there are calm and wise people in parliament and the state? Can one believe that what Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Shehi has done shows an inability to tolerate and a harsh standard toward citizens? Now, with this act, the deputy prime minister has brought down the face of the state. He has left a stain on it, one that neither speeches nor excuses can remove. If we accept this, then we are surrendering before an unprecedented brutality.

No hatred would go so far, even if the parliament were a nuisance to a deputy. I am not convinced that I had expected other moral and possible vote thefts, but the time has come to stop speaking. For what? For Lezhë. For the numbers. For the ballot boxes. For the voters. For power. For the winners. For that which is called democracy and for that which is not. This is where the thousands of votes cast in Lezhë have ended up. Citizens are counting them themselves and announcing them before the public opinion. Some of them are now publicly coming out and stating that they gave their vote to “Koha Jonë”, but the announced result puts them somewhere else. No one is waiting anymore for the result of 16 June. The voting station will be open from 8 to 5[n?].
