Albania is in Vlorë, not in Brussels

The future of Albania was watched for two hours as the foreign ministers of the countries of the European Union gathered in a long meeting at the European Parliament. They spoke with them and “explained” the situation in words, deeds and cases, along with 10 “supporting” governments for Berisha’s government, described as “stabilizing” by Brussels. The foreign ministers moved about, took notes, talked and laughed, underestimating and mocking the foreign voice. Honestly, beyond all this governing wall, how can we find a political solution? We look far and clearly toward a clear government, one that moves, from which a credible government will emerge, a responsible parliament and a representative one, before the Albanians and beyond violence. Why were we waiting for Albania here? Because all their lives Albanians declared the “fault” not with the Albanians themselves but with the communist “enemies” for the kidnapping by Europe; now Albanians have started to place the “fault” again on that “greatest enemy of theirs”. Because the model of democracy is in Brussels and Europe, which can embrace the Albanians, having overthrown the dictator. Where to? Where should we go, the European ministers rightly ask. The European and Union ministers decided on political matters. Countries are asking for a quick and “stable” arrangement and a political direction outside one another. In these talks, can you fall into political crisis? Can you fall into anarchy? Can you fall into discontent? A new government is needed, a new parliament, and a cleansing of the situation. Is this country still part of Albania? If we judge by the images from Vlorë and the students of Tirana, it seems we are in Albania. From Brussels, everything is far away. Albania is not there. Albania is in Vlorë. In Vlorë the “lackeys”, the “comrades”, the “companions” of that system were beaten. In Vlorë citizens, teachers, students were beaten. In Tirana students were beaten by the “civilians”. In Vlorë, the heavy police force came out again and showed who the state is. In Tirana, the “civilians” showed who the government is. The government left everyone with a smile and doubt, and the governments, politicians and administration of Europe, asking: “what is happening in Albania?” (government? law? people? order? freedom? power? state? whose?) Are all Albanian citizens affected, by the government? Perhaps others too. In Albania everything has taken on a different name. In Brussels or in Vlorë, at that moment? the clear one? the bad one? At that moment people push, gesture to move away, run, fall, get up, again. And for all this, high above and always, the new “enemies” are those who today speak in the name of Albania.
