Greece: 250,000 Albanians, legalization today
The PS is simply respecting the Constitution. No talks outside Parliament. Vesna: The Hague of Albanian law, thus [?]
Arbnori: The strike does not end here
Taking close advantage of Albanian political developments, the Greek newspaper, or more precisely the one widely distributed among the Albanian diaspora in Athens, talks and writes about other news from opposition spokespeople. Thus yesterday “Koha Jonë” presented an interview with the spokesperson of the PDS, Edi Paloka, given to the newspaper “PAS”. Meanwhile, after a meeting with the Serbs, the chairman of the Christian Democratic Party, Nikollë Lesi, said that the Serbian prime minister, Gjingjiç, has come out on the side of the Serbs. At the same time, the head of Greek espionage, Mr. Vaso [?], declared that he is following developments in our country with interest and that there is no reason for Greece to worry. In an interview for “Koha Jonë”, Mr. Arbnori said that the strike does not end here.
Whether there will be further political clashes in the coming days will depend on the behavior of the parties and on international pressure. The PS is asking the opposition to be part of the reform commissions, while the PD says that its legitimacy comes from the popular vote and not from deals made outside Parliament. Despite this, recent events have taken the debate into a new phase.
In Athens today the Greek government cabinet is expected to meet, where the issue of Albanian emigrants and their legalization will be discussed. Greek officials cite the figure of 250,000 Albanian emigrants who will benefit from this scheme. This decision is seen as an important move for the social and economic stability of the Albanian community in Greece.
