The Noli Phenomenon
Trevorëja, for the last time in 1924, in the dërra of the Prime Ministership, ran Noli, entering for the first time. Tirana, not outside at night, after he left the end and head of the scattered, in a rush and a run. Why don’t you understand that when we enter, we too can?
On a late Sunday evening, just as he was passing by, he insists on turning right, and then, as he explains in detail, all these delayed questions and answers for the whole state, that a majority has been seized with hope; Noli understood, from under the table of the capital, and asked him: “Why did you stay? Let us enjoy more time in life, since you have done few services?”
The man of the word, some other time, what is to be done, with lowered hands, laughs under his breath, yellow face and tired eyes. After the last sleep he felt on his knees, the fall into a dead end; but he still comes back with an answer, in an inexplicable way. Quickly gathering the broken bits of voice, for a moment, he settles on a short reply: “Has this ended like this? Will it end here? I believe not. Albanian society cannot be left in this state”.
In another quiet moment, he recalls that every passing is a painful sign of the departure of this country. Soon, nominally, a few more days will pass with dust, with weapons, with people shouting, with people killing, with people disappearing, with people trying to survive. He repeats that everything is terrible and that the state cannot continue this way. He calls for law, for a state, for responsibility.
In the end he adds that, although everyone is afraid, no one can remain silent before crime. According to him, the time for tolerance has ended and the only solution remains the severe punishment of those who have taken up arms against society. He mentions that among the perpetrators there are also political links and that these must be investigated to the end.
