BY F. FROK ÇUPI The concept of “beginning” has tripped up individuals and states themselves throughout their lives. Anyone with even a little goodwill to move forward has regarded the beginning as the first step toward taking further steps forward. Anyone without this will uses the word “beginning” to justify being stuck in the mud of incompetence. When an individual uses “beginning” like a piece of candy to lull his hungry children to sleep, this constitutes a “small” misfortune, that is, a family one. But when the state uses the candy of the beginning to lull the unfortunate who believe in the state’s great seriousness, then it causes a collective misfortune. All people, strangely, become like mice before the state and follow it right up to the black hole... if the state is heading toward the black hole. This happens in our backward Eastern and Central countries. And it is precisely in these countries that governments seize the opportunity to use the “beginning” as a chain to bind human initiative. We have to live and we have to die without knowing whether we had a beginning or whether we had a continuation; our end has always arrived unexpectedly. During the protracted communist period, the day came when family members went to the market to buy our white shroud, while we were still talking about the “beginning” of a happy life. The end of the worst regime this country has known, between 1992 and 1997, came while it was saying, “we are at the beginning of the program.” One of the representatives of that “black hole” dared these days to say, “our program was interrupted halfway,” even though they plunged the people into the calamity of fire and war. Now, unfortunately or fortunately, we find ourselves “at the beginning” once again. But the beginning is coming to an end. Take care: the beginning is coming to an end. The present beginning is hemmed in on two sides: the criminal side, which seeks to suffocate the beginning, and the optimistic side, which wants the beginning to continue. While the criminal side has taken to the streets and is killing people, blocking the road, calling for the weapons not to be surrendered, and demanding a return; the other side wants crime to be stopped “at the beginning,” the bill for this year’s aftermath to be calculated, the guilty to go to trial, and investment to begin as well. Who has the “beginning” in their hands? This philosophy is being applied once again in our country, throughout its entire origin. Because of the unjustifiable prolongation of the beginning of the government that won the majority of the popular vote, the opposing side that caused the crisis is now ready to claim authorship of the “beginning.” The second beginning could be even more catastrophic, something nobody wants. But this will happen if the “beginning” recommended by the current government does not come to an end. The extended “beginning,” or even the new Mafia, justifies it as a “beginning”; it is connected with the loss of a large part of the population. The current government has thought correctly that even if it loses its “beginning,” the end of what it lost will never come, but it is prolonging its own end indefinitely. They forgot that the end of this beginning is coming. They also forgot all the concrete counterarguments about the “bride”; no, better, now we must await the concrete things concrete things.
