Party people
BY KUÇO BLUSHI
These are times, my friend. Party people appear and disappear, overlap and dissolve, impose themselves on one another (and on the country), pull each other down, and define (degenerate) not Albania but also the aspiration and virtue of themselves, utterly destroying honor along with the grandson's humor.
The old party people ruin the work of the younger ones; the zeal of your bravery and your power, the repeated making, democracy-writing, freedom[?], tribune, and other foolish things, everything for climbing, they put in place another kind of parentage to climb higher. Let us call this work too the spiritual epoch of the vile government.
Party people are not even professionals in vocabulary, to say the least. But the core of this vocabulary, or this whole matter, is that words for them have nothing to do with work, with workers, with deeds, with the mind, with sharp eyes, with courage, with patience, with feeling, with responsibility, with contact, with trust, with spirit, with character. All of these are not their poles, but yes, words are their business. Words are not merely a description of a phenomenon, but its miniature spectacle; what is its counterpart and inseparable from it, like an actress playing the role of a mother. If there is any of that at all, everything takes on meaning, because party people do not deal with meanings. For them, meaning is a wet body that gets into your shoes; a being they do not know nor love, that destroys their smile, handshakes, sorrow, grandeur, modesty, calm, concentration, speech, tenderness, love, tears, conditions, the condition, effort, cost, rest, patience. So they do not want meaning, but the costume of meaning.
If the world cannot manage with such partisan people, that does not mean these people are not so convincingly eye-catching. The world is very harsh on them, but not merciful to the world, because through these inventions of its own the world creates shadows to pass through its own rain of loneliness without getting wet. Or so it seems to me. Party people do not want the world either to curse it or to change it. What they want is a government with a loud voice, with bodyguards, with noise, with the passion of leadership, with government[?], with admiration and respect, with people who look at them and serve them. They like to remain in appearance, to be known, to be someone, for everyone to know them, for everyone to endure them, for everyone to admire them and hate them. Or I don't know how else to put it.
