There is no doubt that the Albanians’ ability to endure the recent tragedy, caused by the tyrant of Belgrade and his collaborators, was made possible only thanks to the unprecedented support of the United States of America. And at the forefront of this campaign in support of the Albanians was the American President, Bill Clin—[?] the entire international community, but also the powerful advocate of punishing Millosheviç through what was called a “humanitarian war.” But in their struggle against the forces of evil, the Albanians also felt the warmth of a woman, the “First Lady” of the United States. Mrs. Hillari Clinton was perhaps the first to stand alongside her husband, seeking to ease the Albanians’ pain during the absurd calamity that befell them at the end of the second millennium. From the very beginning of their mass expulsion by Millosheviç’s forces, she led efforts to raise awareness not only among Americans, but also in international circles, so that nothing would be spared in helping the Albanians. In this respect, Mrs. Clinton perfectly complemented the humanitarian aspect of the action to defend the Albanians, led by the American President. For example, while Bill Clinton was engaged in intensive political, diplomatic and military activity to keep the front against Millosheviç going, Hillari, through her words and concrete actions, mobilized humanitarian organizations around the world to help the Albanians. Those Albanians driven from their homes, whom fate had cast as far away as America, could not help but forget their pain when they saw the wife of the American President waiting to receive them there. But that was not all. In a complicated situation, as thousands of Albanians poured every day toward Albania and Macedonia, Hillari [the text is damaged: “ia Amerikan për t’u lë?”] met with Albanian women at the Stenkovc camp in Macedonia. Surely, those Albanians who shook her hand and were warmed by her golden words of comfort must have felt as though Saint Mother Teresa of Albania had come among them. And Hillari once again found herself among the Albanians, this time with her family. Now, as the Albanians await their return to their liberated homes, instead of the grief they once felt, they thank her from the heart for everything the first lady of the Clinton family did during those difficult days. She deserves to receive the “Order of Mother Teresa” decoration, awarded by Albanian President Medani. This is the first American woman who will remain in the historical memory of generations of Albania as the person who helped them at the most difficult moment for our Nation.
