The end of the world?
Majko calls on the mayors of Tirana
Prime Minister Majko, at yesterday’s meeting with local government leaders, asked them to begin special monitoring of children and pensioners so as to avoid damage to their eyesight and eyes from the long hours of observing tomorrow’s eclipse. Majko asked for a prior explanation of what is considered [?] as an eclipse, in order to prevent people’s irrational panic and avoid creating harmful atmospheres. The Prime Minister made it clear to them that the eclipse is not a phenomenon that poses a threat to human life. Despite the risk posed by looking at this phenomenon with the naked eye, Majko said yesterday, it is certainly foreseeable what might happen to people after watching the phenomenon for hours. This is because the eclipse will last around 6 minutes in some parts of the world. According to data from the center responsible for observing eclipses and astronomical observations, on 11 August 1999 a total solar eclipse is expected to occur, which is the fifth and last total solar eclipse of the second millennium. In the evening phase, taking into account the fact that the turmoil of local government is mainly in the hands of the opposition, coordinated cooperation with the government may perhaps seem more direct. This, combined with maintaining public order in such a way that, despite the panic, there is also the good of sometimes being left in queues, such as the calculation of hours [?], includes a series of formations with the public's genes [?]. Since local government clearly maintains full and coordinated observation for Wednesday, the Prime Minister also announced the other steps that will be taken. Also, an essential step is communicating with the public as quickly as possible, so that people clearly know what is happening, avoid careless actions and protect their eyesight. The closer tomorrow’s hour approaches, the stronger the impression becomes that the public is awaiting this event with great curiosity, but also with a kind of unclear fear.
