Europe decides: punishment for the Balkans

Europe decides: punishment for the Balkans Yesterday, at the end of the European Commission meeting, Romano Prodi addressed the Balkan peoples in a firm tone: "You must change your behavior, otherwise there will be no Europe for you". Prodi put more than 25 demands to the Balkan peoples in Italy. Despite the euphoria, for example the economic ones, characteristic also of the other former communist countries of the East, the Balkans are described as even more miserable than the other former communist countries. Specifically, the war in Kosovo and its ruins, for which only Belgrade cannot be blamed, but also Europe itself. Faced with the incapacity of the European Commission, for the first time, no one at a high European level, in a public statement, will leave the Balkans to end up on the periphery of Europe. Yesterday in Brussels, the newly elected head of the European Commission, Romano Prodi, warned that "the inhabitants of the Balkans must understand this in a figurative way before they understand entering the EU". He bluntly accused Europe of having developed over the past five years, while pursuing the Balkans and preventing them from laying the foundations of development as a rival force. But in his appearance on the sidelines of the conference of whispers, Prodi made it clear that the Balkans must change. To win the right to be a citizen of the 21st century it was required of them. And the 2 million euros and the allowances also from the war, but without discouraging the interruption of others and the further slipping with the host countries, with laws and to be regulated with an independent administration. All of this gave the impression of a hard-faced return to integration with Europe. Faced with a portion of the gloom he inflicted on the Euro-Balkans, among them in statements in Italy, there was a comprehensible nuance that, apparently, the arrival in Europe will be conditioned on the strict application of Europe’s logic. Faced with a possible administrative life, the Council of Europe has not labeled the countries in the southeast of the continent, directing them to Europe, a place with endless hope for a ministerial punishment for creation in office. "We are casting a bitter spell over the whole region and it must be clear that without reform there will be no path to enter Europe," declared Majdo, referring to the ministers who were there.
