The President also spoke

FERDINAND XHAFERRI Twice, from the first of the 5 positions for the Media, after returning to the Presidency of the Republic, when asked about the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and off the record for the Albanian cameras, President Meidani declared: “I sign the decision to remove Colonel T[h]e[?]ibbi Pollozi from the post of head of the Tropoja District Police Commissariat, but I will await the outcome of transparency if he has facts and evidence for the complaint made against the President. By postponing the logic of the moment, which raises and joins the idea of removing the colonel because of the Defense Minister’s plot with Major Fatos Nano, if it does not take another path, the President of the Republic said that he is convinced that the truth leads to justice”. Commenting on his words about Prime Minister Majko, the President said that the coup was an invention of the opposition, encouraged by political figures. This is not the first time that the President has acted beyond his constitutional role, openly taking the side of one political camp at the expense of the other. Avoiding any comparison with Kosovo and the early elections in the country, the head of state expressed his conviction that Albanians no longer want civil war. Otherwise, the news from Kukës, he writes, is also about the north of the country. “I call for moderation, calm and respect for the Constitution. The current key word must be calm, stability and coexistence,” he said. He further explained that “the Commander-in-Chief is aware of what is happening,” and said that he expects official clarifications from the government بشأن the removal of Colonel Pollozi. On the other hand, he said that the decision will be examined calmly and objectively. The President of the Republic stressed that hasty judgments cannot be made without a full analysis of the situation. page 4
