Yesterday, the country’s top authorities took part in the ceremonies held in honor of the body of Colonel Ahmet Zylyftari, giving him the highest recognition of the Albanian state for the fight against crime and for the figure of Colonel Zylyftari. For him, and for dozens of other participants, there was no shortage of tears and exclamations of respect for Zylyftari, recalling also the great heroic act of his arrest and escort to the police unit. The ceremony opened in the main hall of the Academy of Order. Although from this wide gathering, a not insignificant number of people were present, not only the top representatives of the state and the police, it was made very clear in the ceremonial remarks that members of the government family would also take part. But this latest blow made it clear that the time had come for the state to punish criminals at any cost. Among other things, Prime Minister Pandeli Majko described Ahmet Zylyftari as a distinguished figure of the Albanian police, who died in an effort to restore order in a neighborhood of Tirana. Meanwhile, the Mayor of Tirana, Albert Brojka, stressed that the state would take measures to restore calm in the capital. Parliament Speaker Skënder Gjinushi said that these recent events have severely shaken the lives of Albanians, while the Minister of Order, Ilir Gjoni, described the criminal events as one of the ugliest manifestations of Albanian life.
