Government bribes, one million dollars for Birra “Tirana”

Who took the bribe: Meta, Muçi or MP Spartak Braho?! Last night the Council of Ministers met in an emergency session and signed off on the purchase of the Albanian beer factory by anonymous individuals from an Italian company, behind whom government officials and deputies from the Socialist Party are hiding Bribes return BY ALEKSANDËR GJIPA In word and deed, the Italian government of the so-called scoundrel Prodi. In yesterday’s event, alarm was rising like a flood from a political catastrophe, but the henchmen of “clandestine deal-making” from Albanian politics were rejoicing. The lights in the seat of government were turned on for the first time after midnight. There had been a secret meeting of the Council of Ministers, where Prime Minister Ilir Meta delivered an encouraging speech about this scandal. Although he came out with an official tone to calm public opinion, very secret sources indicate that all the links in this affair had been laid out before his eyes and ears. Such mobilization has not happened for a long time by the left-wing government for a contract that has nothing to do with the national interest, but only with the interests of a few individuals. The news that the Birra “Tirana” factory is passing into the hands of several anonymous people from an Italian company has put not only the press unions on alert, but also public opinion. In the offices of the executive branch, which until yesterday considered this matter a normal privatization process, unusual movements were seen yesterday. It is no coincidence at all that after this news, the government was set in motion with such urgency. Why? This question is being raised in public opinion, and the answer is directly linked to what has been circulating for some time: a bribe of one million dollars to close this privatization. Various names are being mentioned in the corridors of politics, but three of them are mentioned more strongly: Ilir Meta, Muçi and MP Spartak Braho. Is this another slander or a bitter truth about the Albanian transition? That remains to be seen, but yesterday’s closed, accelerated and murky procedures leave no room for optimism.
