The World Bank’s slap

BY EDI LESI The statement by the World Bank Director for Eastern Europe, Pjer Karleman, released yesterday at the “Rogner” hotel, is the latest slap after that of the IMF appointee. Official Tirana was shaken in the orientation of last night’s Yugoslavia meeting at the OSCE. Meanwhile, the pro-Greek vote showed apologetic circles in Tirana and their skeptical arguments, and again referred to the “58”, which showed how negative Albanian hospitality was toward pro-Belgrade positions. He now said that the World Bank officially called it at OSE[?]. Moreover, he said that the language used in the report and in any other undertaking of theirs was not befitting. He said that the climate in which the arguments for Yugoslavia were being presented — that the Yugoslav regime must be respected, that resolution 1244 must be kept silent on, so that the war and the declarative government do not go away — is in Belgrade’s favor. According to the Kosovo banker, who is sleeping wherever it is decided for Kosovo’s economic development, the views will be in full contact with various Albanian circles and will have priorities according to costs. This Albanian approach, in the interest of Tirana and its positive arguments, directs and the skeptical arguments, again referred to the “58”. page 19
