Blaming the CEC - tracing the trail

26-year-old Armando Avdia killed shortly before dawn in the middle of Tirana The concentration of public passion in the Central Election Commission and Sunday’s decision to cancel the round by the OSCE. Immediately after the murder I had ordered the alarms to be raised in the name of Parliament and the government, while previously foreign organizations had again called for the shootings to be uncovered and today some parties are demanding an investigation into them. All this gives, at the end of the week, a concrete connection that is as alarming as it is especially clear. A piece of news that has circulated for hours and days in the folds of the electoral process and in Albania’s elections does not seem to be getting the attention it deserves. On the contrary, many people are pretending to be surprised by a simple question. Who killed the highway engineer and now is fear, whether within crime or in politics, making everyone remain silent about this crime? From the outset it must be said that no analyst of the Central Election Commission, no publicist or journalist, doubts that 26-year-old Armando Avdia (mostly known as being of the PS) was the key witness to the vote theft of 1 October. More precisely, he had reached this status in a wholly derivative way after that murder and, rightly, after his terrible death, the movement has shown constant fear toward the accusation of disorder. Even in the latest case, in his eyes if the full possibility enters that he was eliminated in the clash in the process of 1 October and led to chaos from all sides. In light of recent developments, this event was subjected to a series of troubling questions that are likely connected to the avoidance of the truth. Why was Avdia killed in the middle of Tirana if he was the only witness from the election commissions who had seen the voting process with his own eyes? Why was the perpetrator of the murder, or some other name, not found immediately? Why, in recent days, did everyone focus on the CEC and not on solving this murder? Police: Mafia-style killing Page 7
