Yesterday, in the morning session of the People’s Assembly, among other things, the Chairman of the Presidium said that the new members of the government would be appointed today. Can you give us any opinion on the composition of the new government?
That is the responsibility of the future prime minister. I think it will reflect the result of the March 31 elections and the balance of political forces in parliament.
Will there be room for the opposition forces?
That depends on the program and on political agreements. In today’s conditions, Albania needs stability and cooperation.
How do you see your role after being elected President?
From today I will carry out only my duties as President, without any party function.
Will this affect the country’s political life?
I believe so. The President must stand above the parties and defend the overall interests of the state.
