FOR ALBANIANS, THE MOTHER IS SACRED
- Greeting by Prof. Dr. Sali Berisha -
The mother caresses the son as she sends him off into the great struggle against the invaders.
(Poem dedicated to the Albanian mother on the occasion of the opening of the assembly of the Albanian Democratic Women's League)
This mentality, this culture of high moral standards, this sacrifice and dedication of the Albanian woman have accompanied our women and mothers through the centuries.
With the greatest respect, we bow before our mothers, before their sacrifice, before their suffering, before their wisdom and resilience.
For us Albanians, the mother is sacred.
The Albanian mother has been and remains the foundation of the family, the bearer of the finest virtues, the educator of generations and the defender of national identity.
She has carried on her shoulders the heavy burden of Albanian life in difficult times and in dark days.
Today, as Albania is going through an important period of democratic change, the role of the Albanian woman and mother becomes even greater.
Without the active participation of women in social, political, and cultural life, democracy cannot acquire its true content.
The Albanian woman deserves honor, respect, and support.
We are determined to defend her rights, her dignity, and her full participation in the life of the country.
The Albanian mother, with her wisdom, intelligence, and high sense of duty, will remain a great force for democratic change.
Glory to the Albanian mother!
Glory to the Albanian woman!
Glory to the Albanian family!

The Democratic Party strongly condemns criminal acts and violence.
Democracy cannot coexist with crime.
Order, law, and citizen security are essential conditions for building a free and democratic society.
The Democratic Party calls on the relevant authorities to take immediate measures to identify and punish the perpetrators.
Citizens must remain calm and not fall prey to provocations.
Only with civic determination and respect for the law can democracy be protected.

The police on trial before the people
The Congress of the Communist Party,
its leaders and the dictatorship police are trying to destroy the new democratic achievement for the third time.

Another restoration of public order will be a test before the people.
If the police serve the citizens and the law, it will earn the trust of the people.
Otherwise, it will remain an instrument of violence and arbitrariness.
