There can be no progress and prosperity in the countryside without giving the land to the peasant who works it

In the People's Assembly It was emphasized that without a fair solution to the land issue there can be no normal development of agriculture nor prosperity for the countryside. In the discussions, the principle was defended that the land should go to the one who works it. Deputies and various participants addressed the state of the cooperatives, ownership, production, the organization of economic life, and the need for deep reforms. The difficult situation in agriculture and the consequences brought about by the current system were discussed. In the session it was underlined that without the farmer's direct interest production cannot increase. The debate focused on the need to give land to the peasant as property or as secure use. Examples were given from different areas, and it was demanded that the reforms not remain only on paper. There was also discussion of the need for supplies of working tools, seeds, credit, and a new organization of the market for agricultural products. In conclusion, it was reiterated that without linking work to personal interest and to ownership, the countryside cannot be pulled out of crisis.
