The Socialist Party, what it ate us up on, but it turned out to have no hold and the lost property. At the moment it is not determined what kind of government it has in hand is thought it should make. Until it is completed, it is not known whether it will be sovereign or technical; but one thing is clear: it cannot be either socialist or delegated. This is because it has lost its certificate and its political and moral certificate. There was a lot of hurry to put it into circulation, but just the same an operation is needed to take it back to the laboratory where it was born. From the annals of socialist evils, not only the latest sufferings it caused this country, but also all the ugly manifestations that are preventing it from coming out of the swamp of socialism, must not remain without a name and without an address. In this disgusting number and of a totalitarian regime with dimensions among the most inhuman and most shameful in the history of our nation, the heroes of this regime, its order-givers and executors, cannot be amnestied by history simply by changing the name of the party or by putting on the garb of an oppositionist. We are mentioning some of its best-known figures. Simon Stefani, member of the Political Bureau of the PPSH, Minister of Internal Affairs, secretary of the Central Committee of the PPSH, one of the figures who bears direct responsibility for repression, class struggle, imprisonments, internments, the bloodshed of Albania and the fanatical defense of the dictatorship. Today he proposes replacing socialism with a kind of fake social democracy, that is, to paint an old and rotten wall with new paint. In service of this line also came onto the scene Hugo, who today presents himself as a man of reforms, but who was part of the mechanism that kept the system alive. To say that these people can lead change is the same as giving the butcher the job of guarding the flock. They fear freedom, the market, private property and real pluralism, because these strip them naked before historical responsibility. If the PS truly seeks to break with the past, it must begin by breaking with the people who symbolize political crime and ideological deception. There can be no moral rebirth with the old figures at the top. There can be no public trust when the victims see every day on the podium those who persecuted them yesterday. The Democratic Party and public opinion must be clear-headed. Albania cannot move forward with the left hand of the red mafia on the steering wheel. The time calls for responsibility, transparency and a real break from the dictatorship. (To be continued on page 6)
