Mr. Sali Berisha is received by the French authorities

Recently, Mr. Sali Berisha has become quite well known in France. His political mission in France was received by French Foreign Minister Roland Dumas, the Mayor of Paris, Mr. Chirac, former President of the Republic Mr. Giscard d'Estaing, and other friends of the Democratic Party. This latest visit is not a tourist visit. Its purpose is not only to better inform the French authorities, but also French public opinion, about the situation in Albania, the concerns of the opposition, the new possibilities for cooperation and aid, and the aspirations of the Albanian people for freedom and democracy. Dr. Sali Berisha has been received by the highest French authorities and by various political forces. This demonstrates France's interest in developments in Albania and its support for democratic processes. [EN] Mr. Sali Berisha is received by the French authorities. In the next issue: TEODOR KEKO AND MITRO ÇELA NEXT ISSUE: “THE ENIGMA OF ART” Throughout all the months at the beginning of 1987, the slogans on the walls of factories, institutions and schools, those slogans unchanged throughout this 45-year period, continued against a backdrop of sluggish calm. Very few conversations among people in official settings, just as little interest in family gatherings for politics, the cold mornings of Tirana began with the usual rush to catch the bus, and just as bleakly, they returned home in the evenings, waiting for the TV news bulletin to hear again what the whole people had always said and already knew. And it could not have been otherwise. Albania was in the period of the dictator's political legacy. In his speech on 13 January 1987, Ramiz Alia took care to state that the path that had been set out would not be touched. To know and openly speak against isolation and its consequences would mean speaking against the Party. It was a time when very few people imagined that the final hour of communism had arrived. [EN] In the next issue: Teodor Keko and Mitro Çela, “The Enigma of Art.” Throughout the first months of 1987, the familiar slogans on the walls of factories, institutions and schools continued unchanged against a background of lethargic calm. [IT] Nel prossimo numero: Teodor Keko e Mitro Çela, “L'enigma dell'arte.”

We reflect after one year

The third time in the hall, buried with ceremony. Thousands of people were taking part in this event, which had been known for a long time. Their closing drew the eyes of the curious. It was not an everyday thing for such a corpse to be buried. Although the delay was exceeding every limit, the senior officials still had not decided whether it should be buried with honors and ceremony or without them. The deceased, whose body was being escorted to its final resting place, had died in the winter of '85, but this fact had been kept secret and had not been made public. Under these circumstances, the question of how the ceremony should be conducted was quite difficult. To bury him with great honors would mean that the organizers were declaring that the death had been merely natural and that the deceased had left this life only as a result of the inevitable laws of biology. To leave him without honors would mean, on the contrary, that he had died in unnatural circumstances, that he had been killed and that the perpetrators were trying to hush up the event. The organizers of the ceremony were trying to cover up, as best they could, the traces of such a predicament. In the end, a middle solution was chosen. [EN] We reflect after one year. The text uses the metaphor of a delayed funeral to reflect on a political death kept hidden since the winter of '85 and on the ambiguities surrounding the public ceremony. [IT] Riflettiamo dopo un anno.

An old habit of ZP

An old habit of ZP Some reactions[?] to the report[?] by journalists, but from the state. With the sending of the reports to the editorial office, it seems that an old polemical machine was set in motion. The article deals with the way propaganda offices and the official press react to criticism, using labels, distortions and personal attacks. This is presented as an old habit of ZP.
