The coalition with PR and PSD will be further strengthened in the new elections

The chairman of the Republican Party, Mr. Sabri Godo, gives us his opinion on this major issue at the press conference of 13 February 1992 The accusations of an agreement with the Socialist Party for PD-PR and PD-PSD coalitions at the center are not true 3 - If the PD is convinced that it can win at the center without an ally, then it certainly has the right to act accordingly. This central decision respects the local decision on coalitions. At least when it has acted properly. Usually, with this aim in mind, we have also acted with the Democratic Party, twice in the local by-elections of July and in the elections of 16 October. Increase the chances of victory as a coalition and less as a party. This remains unchanged as a moral formula until the next elections. - But if the coalition is conceived as a longer-term alliance? - In that sense, certainly. Our cooperation with the Democratic Party was, is, and will remain a long-term alliance. Today there are also hesitant discussions about a coalition with the Socialists. These rumors are unfounded. In fact, we have been determined to form a coalition with the PD, because it is based on a convergence of political goals and not merely on momentary interests. We see that the country is going through a very difficult period and under these conditions the solution is the unity of democratic forces. For this reason the PD-PR-PSD coalition has been and remains necessary. ( Continued on page 2 )

Non-implementation leads us to afar[?]

- denial of every [something?], anti-communism- - A [something?] [thinker?] of Albanian [governance?] - Every time a discussion leads to the conclusion that the Socialist Party seeks to preserve the old administration, the question arises of what will happen with the elections. A DANGEROUS DILEMMA FOR DEMOCRACY

To vote or not to vote? The closer the voting days come, the greater becomes the number of those who doubt whether they should take part in the elections or not. [...] Abstention would be the greatest gift to those who want to keep the country in endless transition. Therefore every citizen must understand his responsibility and vote. ( Continued on page 2 )

Letter from a friend

Why does the Bulgarian test frighten the PS? Our esteemed friend writes to us from Greece that developments in Bulgaria should be observed carefully by Albanian public opinion. He emphasizes that the real changes there came only when the electorate punished the successor of the communist party. This should serve as a lesson for Albania as well. ( Continued on page 3 )
