PD AND THE OPPOSITION WILL LEAD THE NATION TOWARD PEACE, DEMOCRACY AND PROSPERITY The Ambassador of Italy, Giulio Andreotti, postponed his visit to Albania because he does not believe in meeting with former communists. The head of the LD of Kosovo, Ibrahim Rugova, declares that if he were a citizen of this part of Kosovo, Albania would vote for PD. “ZP” reports that “Voice of America” has expressed itself in “the voice of Sali Berisha,” which, translated into Albanian, means that the USA is with us. As is well known - Mr. Nano was promoted in the laboratories of the institute to become an “socialist”-evolutionist. He undermined confidence in secure pilots; unprepared by the first events of pluralism, the first prime minister of this post-communist state gradually moved toward disintegration. Even stages for a calling[?] in the public's ears appeared in times of instability. But, a board only from one side of the neck. Then it happened as if everything came into ethnography where Nano was calmer than his comrades. The initial free movement, their arrest and then the first demonstrations, the breaking of the student strike in December and the election of Ramiz Alia as president were the first hopes for the arrival of something everlasting and fixed in the future. But time, in a shocking way, accelerated events. Against this background one of the candidates of the Party of Labour, Nano, appeared with a new aura as prime minister of a country with a destroyed economy and a state without legitimacy.

The party[?] that I tried, Mr. Andreotti, describes the health and personality of the chancellor regarding the demonstrations and the hundreds to be distributed are and the necessary time and the government decided that Mr. Andreotti should postpone the planned visit to Albania. Meanwhile, from one[]? side the new consideration and the democratic forces will be met with an inevitable solidarity and the other with terms. Meanwhile, Mr. Andreotti states in a communiqué distributed here his decision on this matter with the conviction that he will be welcomed in Albania and that he will await an opposition victory both in Italy and in Albania. He emphasizes that Mr. Andreotti was convinced that the government of Prime Minister Nano could not ensure the order necessary for this type of visit and that the instability of the social-communists in Albania was harming its international image. Sunday, 16.2.1992 marked a special day in tears and sorrow in the village of his birth[?], where MP of the PD, Petrit Lalliu, was laid to rest amid tears and grief. In this village, in the age-old home of every house and every heart, hundreds and thousands of villagers gathered, from the district, as well as from all corners of the country. Members and supporters of the PD and many other people took part in the funeral ceremony. Condolence speeches were delivered by representatives of the PD, family members and friends. The untimely death of MP Petrit Lalliu was experienced as a great loss. [Continues on page 2]

NUSA DOBROVOJA AND NANGU[?] On page two of the newspaper “Zëri i Popullit” of 17 February begins a long “study” as a response to the accusations and denunciations that “RD” has made against the criminals of PPSH. Naturally Mr. Shk[?] Dobrovoja, the author of this article, addresses first of all the usual demagoguery, or, in other words, the advocacy that the official newspaper of PPSH makes for the crimes of the red leadership. “ZP” publishes everything and writes anonymously in the article “NANOVO”[?] that speaks about the punishments of force, laying them on Berisha and PDS. The clear article[?] of “ZP” does its work of slander like “ZP”. The latest attacks of this newspaper have been focused on the writings of “RD” concerning PSSH. [Continues on page 4]
