STATE PYRAMID

- Strong democracy will lead society toward well-being, light, clarity, all the way to Europe - Everyone is amazed that everyday politics and events are becoming more and more strange. These are the first years of a new order, of a society that is painfully emerging from the long darkness of a system that crushed the individual and free speech. Naively, the whole people expects that a change of power will immediately bring prosperity. But time and experience show that the road is difficult, marked by sacrifice, work, and responsibility. The old state left behind an enormous, rigid, incapable apparatus, with countless links that only hinder free initiative. This apparatus, which was called the state, is in fact a pyramid built on fear, privilege, deception, and blind obedience. Inside it, the ordinary person had no place. The law did not apply equally to all. Work was not rewarded. Rights were suppressed. So today the task is clear: this pyramid must be dismantled stone by stone. It is not enough to change the names at the top; the very way of governing must change. Democracy is not decoration. It is accountability, elections, separation of powers, a free press, independent justice, and an economy based on honest work. If these principles are respected, Albania can move toward Europe. But no one should nourish the illusion that this can be done overnight. Citizens must learn to claim their rights, but also to fulfill their duties. Power must be controlled, the administration cleaned up, and corruption struck at. Only then can we hope that from the ruins of the state pyramid a new, just, and humane order will be born.

In the trail of a trial

- Pëllumb Palajë facing Genc Fun and Ramiz Pashko - - Pëllumb Pala facing Genc Fun and Ramiz Pashko - a hand? reason. We asked how the knot was tied and through what hardships it came about? 20.4.1992, at the hearing. On 14.4.1992 the officials of the Savings Bank were summoned, questioned, and the hearing was postponed to 20.4.1992. At the hearing of 20.4.1992, the witnesses appeared one by one, as questioned. Pëllumb Pala presented U. Magj. D. of 10.4.1991, for the loan granted on the basis of the Instruction of 4.6.1990? approved and supplemented for credit for the so-called private activity? for which the defense and he took in hand a judgment of their own, the acts to pardon? The volume of the loan obtained in the name of “Pëllumb Pala”? The representative of the Savings Bank explained that the loan had been granted on the basis of Instruction no. 17? for credit to private activity? According to G. Fun, he was asked whether he had paid the obligation or not? He replied that Pëllumb Pala himself, before being arrested, had paid 80 thousand lek and after his arrest his family had paid another 50 thousand lek. More the complainant had withdrawn the case and had no knowledge of the full amount. From the question asked, he said that in the payments made by the family, a document was not always given, although he would take a signature. In other questions he clarified that he had had friendly relations with Genc Fun. It was not difficult to understand how the political accusation erupted? No. From the beginning it was seen that the lawsuit was built on a memory-complaint apparently inspired. Not only because its content contains inaccuracies and fabrications, but also because on the first page it bears a large title: “Pëllumb Pala, Ramiz Pashko and Genc Ruli”. This fact alone is enough to understand how political names are brought into a civil case. It is further stated that “In a bank, through a scheme, loans were taken out for others”. The questions that follow are of a wholly political nature. Thus it is asked: “How is it possible that for these actions people close to the Democratic Party have been involved?” Or: “Why were the names of Genc Ruli and Ramiz Pashko used?” The very subject of the questions shows that we are dealing with a propagandistic staging. At the end, in this hearing, the defense lawyers also appeared, asking that the trial be conducted according to the real object of the lawsuit, without political allusions. It was also requested that other persons be questioned to clarify the circumstances of the payments and the granting of the loan. Next, the court is expected to rule on the procedural requests and on the soundness of the parties’ claims.

THE PROFESSION OF GËNDE IS A SHAME!

"THE POWER OF THE CAFÉ", THE JOURNALIST OF GËNDE IS A SHAME! "THE POWER OF THE CAFÉ", THE PROFESSION OF GËNDE IS A SHAME! The newspaper’s recent writings? the poet a, written in a harsh vocabulary against several figures of the Democratic Party and against the new government, give the reader the impression that we are dealing with irresponsible journalism, with a tendency to smear the political opponent. Thus the authors of these writings try to build a false reality, presenting events in a distorted way, raising accusations without proof, and using insulting labels. This is not a profession. This is an old way of political struggle with propagandistic means. But what is journalism? It requires verification, moderation, respect for the facts and for the reader. Journalism cannot be called that which is built on slander, insinuation, and distortion. If someone has criticism, let them present it with arguments, with documents, and with honesty. Otherwise, they only discredit themselves and seriously damage the profession.

This is only the beginning!

THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING! That decree no. 54/1992 “On the replacement of certain provisions of the Criminal Code”, dated 6.4.1992, has rightly touched one of the most serious wounds in our social life, this has been proven not only by society’s reaction, but also by the anger of those affected by it. Many of them, accustomed to impunity, tried to present this initiative as revenge or as a political blow. In reality, it is about restoring the principle of accountability before the law. No one can hide behind their function, post, or yesterday’s connections. Today every citizen demands that theft, misuse, abuse of duty, and corruption not go unpunished. The law must act and justice must have courage. Only in this way can confidence be established that the new order is not merely a change of names, but a real change. This is only the beginning. Society expects more. It expects investigations to go all the way and that no one should be above the law.

Two police officers in the Steering Committee of the PD

Two police officers in the Steering Committee of the PD In light of the concerns and reactions that the decision to include a representative of this structure in the Steering Committee of the Democratic Party has provoked, the editorial staff considers it necessary to clarify that the composition and functioning of this committee are not compromised by the inclusion of elements with experience in different fields. On the contrary, the Democratic Party needs professional contributions, broad representation, and people who know the problems of order, security, and the rule of law. Open debate is useful, but it must not turn into prejudice. Within this framework, the committee will responsibly examine every remark and will work to preserve the confidence of the membership. The leaders of the PD were elected? On Wednesday? - commented the press? Se- anc. 2. All Spahia.

For an organized and legal emigration

XXV Everywhere at the agency’s points a few days ago we observed unusual activity. Emigration has become the word of the day and the hope of many families seeking to escape unemployment, insecurity, and an unclear future. However, this is precisely where the need arises for this process not to be left to spontaneity. At the reception counters people ask about documents, deadlines, the places they can go, and how they can secure work contracts. Many of them come from the districts and have spent their last resources just to obtain information. Others fall prey to intermediaries who promise everything in exchange for high payments. Emigration cannot be treated as a mass escape or as an indiscriminate departure. It must be organized, based on clear agreements with host countries, with legal protection for our citizens and transparency in procedures. Only in this way can abuses, trafficking, and disappointments be avoided. The state must create special structures for information, registration, and professional guidance. There must be cooperation with embassies, labor offices, and international bodies. The Albanian emigrant must be shown the safe and legal path. Otherwise, chaos, wandering, and deceit will continue. And this will weigh not only on families, but on the country’s very image. (Continues on page 4)
