TIRANA, 2 June. — The deputy chairman of the Party of True Welfare, Mr. Sulejman Demirel, will arrive tomorrow for a one-day visit to Albania. He will lead the Turkish delegation made up of members of parliament and businessmen. Mr. Demirel’s visit, former prime minister and former president of Turkey, comes two months after the elections of 22 March. This visit is regarded as a sign of the friendship and esteem that Turkish political forces show toward democratic developments in Albania. His schedule includes meetings with the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, the Speaker of Parliament, as well as with personalities from the Democratic Party. The talks will focus on Albanian-Turkish relations, economic cooperation, aid for the reconstruction of the country, and Turkey’s role in supporting Albanian democratic processes. He stated that the United States admires the efforts of the Albanian people and will continue to help the country on its path of transformation. In meetings with Albanian authorities, Mr. Igleberger stressed that American assistance will be conditioned only on progress in reforms and respect for democratic institutions. In his view, Albania has entered a new stage and deserves broad international support.
