The tactic of discrediting Parliament - an anti-democratic game
The Parliament elected in the elections of 22 March this year is tasked with examining and adopting laws concerning the fundamental problems of the democratic system in Albania. In the latest issue of the newspaper “Koha Jonë”, on its front pages, the main topic is the review of the law on SHIK. In this way, an attempt is made to present the issue to public opinion as extremely important and with considerable consequences for the country, while leaving all other problems and laws in the background. The aim is clear. To discredit Parliament in the eyes of public opinion and create the impression that one-sided decisions are being taken. In fact, the law on SHIK is one of many laws currently under review and that meet the needs of the democratic state. The uproar created around it has nothing to do with the substance, but with the desire to use this issue politically. Instead of discussing seriously the content of the law and democratic oversight of the institutions, slogans and accusations are thrown around that aim only to create tension. This tactic, repeated every time Parliament enters debate on important issues, is nothing other than an anti-democratic game. It fosters distrust in institutions and weakens the authority of decision-making. Under these conditions, citizens should understand that attacks on Parliament are not always concern for democracy, but often an attempt to hinder its functioning.

90 million - an easing aid but reform
(text partly illegible) ... For a country like Albania, which is facing major economic and social difficulties, financial aid is essential. But this aid cannot replace reforms. It can temporarily ease the situation, help urgent imports and create some breathing room for the economy, but it does not by itself bring structural change. Only market reform, privatization, monetary stabilization and institutional rebuilding can produce lasting results. Therefore, aid should be seen as support for reform and not as an alternative to it. If the funds are used without a clear program, they are quickly spent and do not produce the expected effect. For this reason, political and administrative responsibility is required in the distribution of resources, as well as an acceleration of the measures that pull the economy out of the crisis.
Agreement for the restructuring of Albanian agriculture
The Director-General of FAO in Rome, Eduard Sauma, and the Minister of Agriculture of Albania have signed an agreement for the restructuring of Albanian agriculture. The agreement aims to help draw up new agricultural policies, make better use of the land, and revive agricultural production. It also provides for technical assistance, advisory support and concrete programs for the organization of farms and support for the agricultural market. Under the conditions of transition, agriculture remains one of the most sensitive and most important sectors of the Albanian economy. Changes in ownership, the lack of tools, seeds and agricultural machinery have caused major difficulties. Therefore, international support is seen as essential to prevent further declines in production and to encourage the return of food security.
Modernizing the army requires capable officers
The Minister of Defense has stressed that the process of modernizing the army cannot move forward without professional training and without a corps of capable officers. According to him, reform in the army is linked to discipline, technical training, moral responsibility and the ability to face new security challenges. He underlined that the army of a democratic state must be under civilian control and function in accordance with the law, without being used for political purposes. In this framework, the establishment of military schools, the qualification of personnel and the provision of suitable equipment take on particular importance.
